Wine & Art Event
An Art & Wine Event presented by the Amity/Dayton Cohort of the Ford Family Foundation (FFF) Leadership Program will be held on November 2 from 5-8p.m. at Coelho Winery in Amity. Advance tickets are $25, and $30 at the door. You will receive your choice of red or white wine , along with a signature glass to take home. Heavy appetizers from local restaurants will be served.
The event is a fundraiser for the program’s community project, a “Gathering Place” in both towns featuring a kiosk including information, seating, and bike racks.
There will be a silent and oral auction of art and other exciting items. Attendees will also have the opportunity to play a “wine pull” game: purchase a chance(s) to draw (or pull) a number that correspond to a nice, very nice, or GREAT bottle of wine, depending on your luck! Contact any FFF Dayton/Amity Cohort member for tickets or call Carol Hesseling at 503-864-8445.
Murder Mystery Dinner Cruise in October
Leadership Program and Fun Sleuthing for You
The Amity and Dayton participants in the Ford Family Foundation (FFF) Leadership Training Program have completed their classroom training. One aspect of the program continues, the completion of a community project. The project identified by the group is to create a Gathering Place, an attractive kiosk including information, seating, and bike racks within each town.
Fundraising has begun for the Gathering Place and you can contribute to its completion while you enjoy a fantastic Murder Mystery Dinner aboard the Willamette Queen Sternwheeler on Saturday, October 19, 2013 from 5:30-8:00 p.m. You will be treated to dinner, participate in a suspenseful/fun murder mystery, and be taken on a leisurely river cruise. The mystery is titled “Crime and Pun-ishment” and you will be actively engaged in participating and solving the mystery. Advance tickets are just $60 per person (aged 13 and older). For additional information contact Jen Kendall at 971-237-3374.
Dayton Garden Club Plants Evergreen Tree in Park
The newly formed Dayton Garden Club, led by Kathleen Bennett, planted a new tree in Courthouse Square Park in downtown Dayton this month. The tree was decorated for Dayton’s annual Christmas Tree Lighting, held this year on December 12th. The sequoia was donated by Francisco Galaviz to the Garden Club. The formation of the Club reinstates a long standing Dayton Garden Club tradition in this small town, dating back to the 1940s and perhaps further.
